Galnet Systems

Total unique systems/candidates: 233

Notes:

  • Direct/contextual = found in phrases like ‘ system’, station/location wording, or explicit deployment lists.
  • Inferred = catalog-style or known ED system-name mentions where the article did not always say ‘ system’.
  • This is a best-effort extraction from prose; nebulae/regions/planets were filtered out where obvious.

Perseus Arm POI Survey Expedition

The goal of this expedition is to survey the Perseus Arm region for interesting and under-documented Points of Interest, with special focus on nebulae, planetary nebulae, rare stellar systems, scenic landing sites, biological vistas, and other locations worth preserving for future commanders.

The original Wolf-Rayet destination will now serve as the expedition’s starting anchor near the closer edge of the Perseus Arm. From there, the expedition will push deeper into the region using a fleet carrier as a mobile base station.

Expedition Purpose

The Perseus Arm appears to be less traveled and less documented than many other regions of the galaxy. Rather than simply passing through, this expedition will attempt to build a small field catalog of places worth visiting.

Commanders joining the expedition are encouraged to search for:

  • Candidate community Points of Interest
  • Nebulae and planetary nebulae
  • Rare or visually striking star systems
  • Scenic landable worlds
  • Biological and geological sites with strong visual appeal
  • Useful route anchors or safe staging systems
  • Extreme or unusual planetary environments

The goal is not only to discover new systems, but to identify locations that deserve to be remembered, revisited, photographed, and possibly submitted to community POI catalogs.

Carrier Plan

The fleet carrier will act as the expedition’s mobile base. Current planning assumes approximately four major carrier staging areas within the Perseus Arm region.

Null Miridian (Q7Y-75J) will be the base carrier for this Expedition. Jumps will be planned out in advanced with estimated arrival times at each base camp.

Each carrier stop will serve as a local survey hub. From each base, commanders can spread out in different directions, scout nearby systems, document possible POIs, and return findings before the carrier moves to the next region.

Planned structure:

  1. WHANU AA-A H0 (Wolf-Rayet Anchor / Entry Point)
Initial gathering point and expedition start near the edge of the Perseus Arm.
  2. OGAIHS AA-A H1 (Carrier Base One)
    First deeper survey area.
  3. DRUMBAO AA-A E0 (Carrier Base Two)
    Mid-region survey area.
  4. MUENOI AA-A E0 (Carrier Base Three)
    Farther Perseus Arm survey area.
  5. EIMBAISP AA-A E0 (Carrier Base Four)
    Final deep survey area.

What Counts as a Candidate POI?

A system does not need to be completely undiscovered to be useful. A good POI candidate should have at least one feature that makes another commander want to visit it.

Examples include:

  • A nebula or planetary nebula view
  • A rare star or unusual stellar pairing
  • A dramatic ringed planet or moon
  • A landable body with a memorable sky
  • Biological life in a scenic location
  • Extreme gravity, temperature, or orbital conditions
  • A useful stopover system in a sparse area
  • A system that photographs especially well

Suggested Documentation

When reporting a candidate POI, please include as much of the following as possible:

  • System name
  • Body name, if relevant
  • Coordinates, if available
  • Description of what makes it interesting
  • Screenshots
  • Landing coordinates, if surface-based
  • Hazards, such as high gravity or difficult terrain
  • Whether it has biological or geological signals
  • Whether the system/body was already discovered, mapped, or first-footfalled

Expedition Outcome

The desired final result is a small Perseus Arm Field Guide containing the best discoveries from the expedition.

This may include:

  • A shortlist of strong POI candidates
  • A list of scenic landing sites
  • Notable nebula or planetary nebula locations
  • Rare stellar systems
  • Biological vistas
  • Useful carrier staging systems
  • Screenshots and travel notes

If strong candidates are found, they may be submitted to community mapping or POI catalogs so future commanders have more reasons to visit the Perseus Arm.

Expedition Theme

The Perseus Arm may not be empty. It may simply be under-documented.

This expedition is about finding what deserves a marker on the map.

The Club Notes

Zurara Generation Ship (SYREADIAE JX-F CO)

  • Logs are dated 01/10/3270 (Euro standarded format)
  • Invaders overpowered the crew and killed the main reactor. Used Hexedit to suicide…
  • Traveled for a year (so faster than light)
  • Invaders before but not the ones managing the cargo snapped?
  • Was told something bad was out in space but not what…
  • series of beacons dropped on Earth-like worlds or terraformable ones.
  • Some worlds with seeders and biofilters…
  • This happened as soon as they turned back!?? Look behind? Towards the Magnetic clouds?

Additional Logs were dated 21/08/3273 (3.5 years later)

  • Said there would be clues to follow but no clues
  • Left the logs to re-educate and memory might be wiped like its happened again.
  • Said they needed waypoints…. waypoints means this isn’t the destination. 3 zones

  • Made it to Rosette Sector PD-S b4-0 – Landed at the asteroid base in system and did a little repair from a rough landing. I then scouted out the local area for any interesting systems. Believe I will fly into the nebula and camp for the night in the glow of the dust.
  • about 1 bil made from exo-bio.
  • Set route to PHROEA HYPAI TN-T d3-4 (next stop in the route 2,657ly away. Does appear to be a dense area of space.
  • I want to dip into Kepler’s Crest region when I’m close remember to detour that way.
  • Nothing on note for the rest of the trip.
  • Did see a one ALGG and Nonhuman Sources (crashed Thargoid probes)
  • Make around 4 Billion from the trip.
  • Ship worked great no complaints really.
  • Over all just a nice trip and the Carbon Star was worth seeing as I got a large solar flare while there.
  • Also the AA-A H0 system was cool but had nothing but massive star.

How to Boxel Survey with EDJP

How to Boxel Survey with EDJP

  1. Pick a system (from the galmap, from a list, etc)
  2. Launch EDJP and “Start Processing” (Image 1) (you can also set it to auto start on launch)
Image 1
  1. “Boxel Survey”, not “Boxel Explorer” (Image 2)
Image 2
  1. Several options to input your system into EDJP, pick one, depending on how you’ve picked your system. Select one and click “Go” (Image 3)
    • a) “Current System”
    • b) “Last Selected System”
    • c) “Last Plotted System” (Don’t worry too much about “Use Next Boxel”)
    • If you ever need to change any settings on a survey after starting, you can “Open Existing Survey”. Note that if you change your current, selected, or plotted system with this window open, you need to “Refresh.” Note, (as in this example, with Beagle Point), you can do a Boxel Survey off a custom named system. Every system has a ProcGen name, (Yes, even Sol), that can be determined based on the information in your journals.

  1. Survey Details (Image 4)
    • a) Your “Boxel”. This is based off the system name you provided.
    • b) “Start System”. You’ll want “Beginning of boxel” if you are starting a new boxel. If you know you left off a Boxel Survey incomplete or are sharing with a friend, you can “Jump to” a system other than the first one.
    • c) “Options.” “Ignore Systems Visited” if you are sure you have personally scanned whatever is needed with your boxel on every system you’ve visited nearby. Uncheck if you aren’t sure if you FSSed or Honked or whatever, This setting also helps if you end up visiting other systems in the boxel out of order while jumping to your target system, if you have a low jump range, or if you are surveying a large boxel, as sequential systems won’t necessarily be nearby. “Ignore Systems in EDSM” will skip systems other CMDRs have surveyed and sent. Useful if you are completing a boxel survey alongside someone else, or a lot of the area was previously discovered.
    • NOTE: in EDSM doesn’t mean its been fully scanned, or even honked. It just means someone entered that system and submitted data. If you want to be sure data is complete you need: “Attempt to skip completed systems in EDSM” will only skip a system if EDSM has the Full System information. Note: this says “Attempt” because it will only check 10 systems at a time, due to a limitation in EDSM API. If it skips 10 in a row, it will stop checking and give you the next one, which may or may not be in EDSM. d) “Save and Start”
Image 4
  1. “Routing Mode” will display your next system. (Image 5) It automatically copies it to your clipboard. If you ever lose the system, the first button after the system name will copy it again. You can increment and decrement with the arrow buttons. You can also keybind increment and decrement, default is “Ctrl + [” for decrement and “Ctrl + ]” for increment. When you jump to the target system, EDJP will automatically increment the system and copy the next one. EDJP doesn’t know when a boxel ends. If you paste the target system in galmap, and get “No results found”, that means you’re done with the boxel, and you can pick a new system.
